Building Fire Escape – An Important Step Towards Safety

For every building, there may be many appealing things installed in it. The most important thing to be noticed and installed is the building fire escape. Safety measures in a house are the essential step taken by all the house owners against all the possible threats. The threats may be fire or any kind of mishaps. Fire exits are mandatory in all the house so that one can exit easily from the place in case of an emergency. In this article, let’s have a look at the tips to install the fire exits.

Basic information on building fire escape:

A fire escape as already known is an emergency exit which is usually installed in outside of a building. But it is installed always as a unique and separate entity from the house. In case of any fire breakouts or any other emergencies when we can’t use the main exit this way is used. So, this is considered as the most important part of a building.

There are many levels in building fire escape. They may have horizontal platforms on each floor which are then connected to each other through the stairs or ladders. These are mostly made up of steel so that it is strong enough and more durable. Also, any dust like snow or leaves can be easily removed if the staircase is made up of steel. These stairs are usually made up of fire-resistant materials so that it is more safe and present on each floor in a building.

In some building, the fire exit access will be from the inside of the building and in some cases, the fire exit can be accessed through the windows only. Sometimes for more security, the fire escapes are fitted with the fire alarms in the house. This is mainly done so that if any unauthorized people enter the building it can be known easily.

Installing the steel fire exit stairs is not too costly. Nowadays, it is fit within the whole construction cost of the building. But there is a common risk in installing it too. Being made of iron or steel or any other metallic material, it is also subject to rust. Thus any part of it may break. For this, all you need is to ensure that a safety powder paint coating is given so that it will have better corrosion resistance and more integrity.

If the house is old then it is better to check once the fire exit for any rust formation or damages for more safety. Thus for the personal or family safety in mind, strong building fire escape must be installed in the house. If you moving to a different house then check the building once if it has proper fire safety measure in it.
